Brokering Skills for LifeWhat is brokering skills for life? Brokering skills for life uses experienced advisers to organise numeracy, literacy and language programmes that are customised to your workplace. Who are the Brokers? The Advisers (or Brokers) are people from business advisory backgrounds who are experienced in encouraging employers to address the literacy, numeracy and language needs of their workforce. Who are the Providers? Approved Providers are organisations experienced in delivering literacy and numeracy courses, who's staff are trained to adapt their skills to the context of the workplace. Their role is to design and deliver customised programmes within the workplace that will meet the needs of businesses and develop individuals e.g: If you do not have a Broker/Adviser working with your organisation, What would a programme look like? Through discussions with your Broker and Provider, the needs of your organisation would be identified. An appropriate programme of learning is then designed by the Provider that will meet these needs, taking into account working patterns and the nature of the organisation. For examples of programmes already delivered within employer's premises, see the Case Studies pages. |
