Coaching and Mentoring Process
Coaching and mentoring requires the skill and competence of someone who can devote the time to plan and support your learning. Coaching and mentoring is often provided by people within your organisation such as another manager at your level or a senior member of staff. Many external providers are now offering coaching and mentoring services. These can cover all areas of business such as leadership, management and performance. This type of coaching has the added benefit of dealing with someone who has had professional training in providing this service. Other development activities also include in-company job rotation, job shadowing, on the job training and external placement / secondment.
